North Street
The A295 as it runs through the centre of the town. Although the street is quite old it is now very nondescript being flanked either side by car parks and the Tesco superstore that opened in 2007 on the site of a former school which was moved to Marshfoot Lane. The rear of The Quintins shopping centre which contains a C-op supermarket is on the right.

Old Workshops off High Street
The land between High Street and North Street was once filled with small fields and workshops. Now much of it has been concreted over for either car parks or shopping centres. These two survive near the northern end next to Carriers Path but have to be accessed by the C-op supermarket service road.

A mixture of old and new in the High Street, a 17th century house to the left and a 1980s shopping centre to the right. The shopping centre was named after the politician Quintin Hogg better known as Lord Hailsham. It is home to the Co-op supermarket.
