Drove Road
A byway that links Warren Road to Falmer Road, the B2123, which follows the route of an ancient droving route that once linked Lewes to Brighton across the drier ridge of the Downs. Between Newmarket Hill and Southover it is known as Juggs Road named after the baskets the wives of Brighton fisherman carried containing the fresh fish they intended to sell at Lewes market. The north western fringe of the suburb of Woodingdean is to the left and the space between the houses and the byway is being used to grow root vegetables. Private road to Bevendean Farm
The farm is hiding over the brow of the hill on the right. Although the map calls it Upper Bevendean, the occupants are happy with just Bevendean on their name board. There is no public right of way here.
