Further Hawthey Field
The name of the field according to the 1838 tithe map and currently providing a buffer between the eastern end of Polegate and the western edge of Stone Cross. Part of the field was lost when Golden Jubilee Way was constructed in the early 1990s.

Golden Jubilee Way
The A22 as it approaches the junction with the A27. Pevensey By-Pass heads off to the right whilst the two A roads share the route westwards to Cophall Roundabout. The road was built in the 1990s to ease the flow of traffic in and out of Eastbourne as well as providing by-passes for Polegate, Westham and Pevensey.

Roundabout at the A22/A27 junction
The two roads now share a couple of miles along the Polegate Bypass, this is where they divide to Hastings or Eastbourne. Anyone reading this is recommended to go to Eastbourne directly via Polegate, this route goes all round the houses and takes much longer outside rush hours.
