The problem with living next to a marsh is periodic flooding possibly caused here by a dyke that hasn't been cleared for a while.

Flooded Footpath
The footpath from Wallsend Road is just about to reach Pevensey Bay but first calf deep water needs negotiating requiring a climb over the fence to the left. The water has come from a nearby dyke that probably hasn't been maintained and has also flooded the neighbouring garden.
