Innings Cottage
Viewed from Eastbourne Road, the A259, and one of the older buildings of Pevensey Bay having been built on the shingle bank above and opposite the lower lying grounds that were inned (or reclaimed) from the marsh.

The name presumably derived from "Peven's ey", with 'ey' meaning an island. Much of this coast used to be below sea level.

Martello Tower number 60
Tower 60 has been a private residence since renovation was completed in 1986, prior to that it was still being used by the military as an observation post into the 1970s. Full history can be found http://www.martello-towers.co.uk/south-coast/towers/60.htm . No idea why a Chinese and Australian flag are flying outside.
