New Year's Day 2003 midday photo, Hampden Park, Eastbourne
This New Year's Day midday photo shows deciduous trees which have shed their leaves for winter and which consequently have a gaunt appearance. The nearby benches, which are popular in warmer seasons, lie deserted due to the colder weather.

Decoy Pond, Hampden Park
An original decoy pond once part of the Ratton estate of Lord Willingdon. It was acquired by Eastbourne borough council in 1901 and opened to the public the following year as the town's first major park.
