Lower Willingdon from the Downs
This view across Lower Willingdon from the Downs shows Huggetts Lane recreation ground, Freshwater Square (the flat-roofed white buildings form one corner of the square) and the surrounding Hamlands estate. The estate was built between 1964-67 and this view taken in July 1979 looks almost identical today.

Willingdon in green play Lindfield in sky blue in a game from the Mid Sussex County League. Cricket is played on the same area in summer.

Shops, Gorringe Valley Road
Only the hair saloon is open on a Saturday morning, the rest are made up of a vets, a dog grooming service, bathroom showroom, beauty saloon and Willingdon & Jevington parish council offices. The junction with Eastbourne Road, the A2270 is at the end of the parade.
