St James's Street, Brighton
Developed from the 1790s onwards as a shopping area to serve the new developments on the side streets heading south to Marine Parade. Still one of the main shopping areas of Brighton it is the only one to have retained its original width and not be widened. One way traffic was introduced here in 1968.

The Kings Arms, George Street, Brighton
These days both a public house and a hostel. The pub itself dates back to at least 1799 and probably opened when the street was developed during that decade.

St James Street Brighton
Traffic congestion as three buses arrive at the same time (don't they always?) viewed from the corner of Madeira Place on St James Street. Google Street View shows that the building behind the buses now contains a Tesco Express and a Superdrug store.
