Royal Crescent Mews, Kemp Town, Brighton
The mews lies to the rear of Royal Crescent which was built between 1798-1807 and contains a row of small cottages which originally housed those servicing the great and good in the houses in front.

Royal Crescent
The first real unified construction along the coast and the first facing the sea. Prior to that development tended to follow the old strip field patterns along streets on a north-south axis. Started in what was then isolated fields in 1798 it was completed in 1807. Royal Crescent Mansions to the right was originally a hotel but has been converted into flats. Famous residents include Sir Laurence Olivier who lived there between 1961 and 1979.
