Eastbourne churches [18]
Eastbourne Free Church in South Street was built in 1903 as a Congregational Church. In a lively Arts and Crafts style, the church is constructed of red brick with stone bands and dressings under a tile roof. Listed, grade II, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1393286 Eastbourne is a town and seaside resort on the south coast of East Sussex, some 54 miles south of London and about 19 miles east of Brighton. Although there is evidence of settlement from the Stone Age onwards, Eastbourne remained an area of small rural settlements until the railway arrived in 1849. A resort, built "for gentlemen by gentlemen", was planned and the town's growth accelerated from a population of less than 4,000 in 1851 to nearly 35,000 by 1891. Tourism is a large and important part of the economy of the town.

Cascade, Grove Road
Part of the 'Little Chelsea' shopping district near the Town Hall. The bookshelves on the right belong to Camilla's bookshop one of those second hand book stores where the items are piled tightly on top of each other in every nook and cranny available. The books on the outside are for sale but require the buyer to honestly place 50p through the letterbox and as is per usual in these cases there is a highly eclectic mix. Taken from the yard looking onto Grove Road.
