The Winter Gardens in Compton Street have a weary look to them. Built in 1876 with alterations and additions circa 1910 and alterations throughout the 20th century. There are two halls and an entrance block. Constructed with a cast iron frame with infill under roofs of zinc panels (later covered over by a metal roof). The 1910 addition is in stuccoed brick.
