Royal Spa Nursery, Park Hill, Brighton
The Ionic portico and north wall are the only survivors of the former Royal German Spa that was opened here in 1825. To the south was a pump room that drew water from a well then mixed with minerals for use for health purposes by visitors. After its popularity declined in the 1850s the building was used to manufacture mineral waters until closure in 1965. After a period of dereliction when the pump room was demolished and a long battle was commenced to save the remaining northern part it fell into the hands of the council who restored what was left and placed into the grounds of a nursery that opened in 1978.

Park Street Gate, Queen's Park, Brighton
An arched gate was placed at the entrance to the park from Park Street when Thomas Attree opened the original park in 1829. It was rebuilt in 1890 with the name of the Race Stand Trustees, the group who purchased the park for public use, added along the top. Today the gate acts as an entrance to South Drive which was developed with housing in the first decade of the 20th century. One of two, see also Image
