Mornings Mill Farm
There is a nice set of dwellings at this farm. The big house on the left, three large cottages in the middle and a pair of small single storey cottages on the right. These last are oldest and seem most interesting. All are lived in and there seems a lot of activity here, yet a proportion of the farm buildings further to the right seem derelict or nearly so.

Cottages, Mornings Mill Farm
This pair of cottages were the first at this site, being shown on late Victorian maps. Then, there were only buildings to the right of the cottages as here and nothing to the left of the cottages as seen in Image The site was merely Mornings Mill until later in the 20th century when 'Farm' was added. The location is not suited to a water mill, and there is no trace of, or reference to, a windmill ever being here, so what was the mill? Perhaps a steam mill with coal from Polegate station goods yard?
