Distance
1
The Street
The sinuous main street of Walberton that stretches from Yapton Lane, the B2132 and Walberton Green. The 19th century cottages to the left are called Park View whilst visible in the distance is the baptist church built in 1886.

The Old Bakery, Walberton
The cream house has this name. In the brickwork above the double doors is an arch, suggesting there was once a through passage rather higher and narrower than the current doorway.

House at Pigeon House Farm
Whether this is the farmhouse is not too clear. It is certainly number 15, presumably in Dairy Lane, the road to its left going to the farmyard.

Tombstone, St Mary's Church, Walberton
This is the tombstone for Charles Cook who died on 20th March 1767 when he was hit by a felled tree. The beautiful and well preserved stone shows the unfortunate accident. Poor old Charlie can just be seen under the boughs of the tree while the woodman holds his hand up in dismay (his other hand still holds his axe). There is a skeleton on the left and Old Father Time (or maybe the Grim Reaper) on the right holding an hour-glass and a scythe. God is shown above, amongst the clouds dangling the scales of justice. Either side of him are two cubby bottomed trumpet playing cherubs.
