St James the Less, North Lancing
St James the Less was the parish church of Lancing. In 1880 it was proposed to build a daughter church in South Lancing but this was abandoned a short time later after the vicar's sudden death. Then in 1912 it was proposed again but was delayed because of the war. St Michael and All Angels was eventually built in South Lancing in 1924 as a daughter church, then in 1931 they became 2 separate parishes. St James the Less serving the North and St Michael's serving the South.
