Widewater Lagoon
Widewater Lagoon is an area of brackish water between Lancing Beach and the houses along the A259. It was formed when the original Adur Estuary was blocked off by the building up of the shingle beach by longshore drift and storms. It is now a nature reserve, easily viewed from the path/cycleway along the top of the beach.
