Baptist Church, Gloucester Place
Actually the rear view from the bend in Gloucester Road. The church was originally built in 1904 and partially destroyed by a stray bomb during the Second World War but rebuilt after.

Brighton: Astoria Theatre
An Art Deco cinema of 1933 which closed in 1977 and survived for some more years as a bingo hall. It has lain empty and derelict for about 20 years and its future has remained uncertain. Grade II listed.

Gloucester Place Baptist Church
The church was established at the turn of the last Century by the coming together of two Baptist churches in Brighton, namely those in Queens Square and Sussex Street.
In the 1939-45 war the Church was badly damaged by enemy action but survived to serve the community up to the present time.

Astoria Cinema
A former purpose built cinema that opened in 1933 and closed in 1977, becoming a bingo hall until that venture ended in 1997. The first floor was used for a while as a keep fit/dance studio but the building has largely been empty for the last decade as a series of plans for conversion have failed to take off. It was finally announced last week that the council have given planning permission to demolish the structure and build a new set of offices on the site.
