Looking at a section of Findon West of Cissbury Ring
Taken from the parking on the west side of the road, looking across the road south east, the houses are in this grid square and the hills in another grid square. The road leads to the A24.The green area in the foreground and to the south east of the parking is known as The Gallops.

Goar Cottages, Findon Valley
A pair of 18th century flint walled cottages that stand on the corner of Findon Road and Bost Hill and originally used as the village workhouse. Until the 1930s they were virtually the only buildings on the road between Worthing and Findon before being joined by Image in 1823 and eventually becoming engulfed by the newly built suburb of Findon Valley during the 20th century.

Worthing Borough Boundary Marker
Erected in 1929 as the council extended northwards taking over the former parishes of Durrington and Findon. The bridleway forms the current boundary between Worthing and the parish of Findon after the southern portion to the east of the A24 was transferred in 1933.

Site of Findon Gate
At the far end of the small field opposite the chimney that marks the location of Goar Cottages is the former location of Findon Gate built as a tollhouse in 1823 and surviving as a residence until the early 1960s when it was demolished for road widening. Water Pumping Station
Located just off Findon Road a little to the north of the junction with Bost Hill. Beyond is West Hill and its TV transmitter mast.
