Construction of New Flood Defences near Bealey's Weir
Work on the second phase of the Radcliffe and Redvales Flood Alleviation Scheme has recently begun and will see a combination of traditional walls and embankments, along with new wetland habitat, as part of a catchment-wide approach to reducing flood risk. Here, a 300-metre stretch of the river's left bank near Warth Mills is being strengthened by the installation of vertical piled retaining walls and precast concrete walls.
