War Graves at Bury Cemetery
Bury cemetery was opened in 1869 and is owned by the council. According to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission https://www.cwgc.org/visit-us/find-cemeteries-memorials/cemetery-details/40913/Bury%20Cemetery,%20Redvales/ , there are now 87 First World War and 56 Second World War burials or commemorations on this site. The graves are scattered throughout the cemetery; these three (Second World War graves) are near the southeastern corner. From nearest to furthest, they are: BLAKE JAMES LINGWOOD Major, Royal Artillery, Died: 7 November 1945 PATRICK JOSEPH MURPHY, Private, Pioneer Corps, Died: 1 June 1945 VERA JOHNSON, Corporal, Women's Auxiliary Air Force Died: 28 April 1945
