It pays to advertise ?
This relief plaster advert is believed to have been on the wall for more than 50 years but there is no plumber named Howell in the current local phone book. Local telephone books record Howell plumber at that address between 1929 and 1967. I am obliged to fellow Geographer, John S Turner http://www.geograph.org.uk/profile/8378 for the research into the telephone records.

Coaches on Market Street
Bury's World Famous (http://www.burymarket.com/defaulter.asp ) Market attracts lots of visitors to the town. On market days (Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays) the eastern side of Market Street is designated as "buses only" parking to accommodate the coaches bringing in day trippers.
These coaches, parked near the athletics ground are headed by 8447WX, a white Volvo (Travellers' Choice); behind is YN11AWU, an orange Volvo belonging to Irving's of Carlisle.
