Unsworth Pole War Memorial
Unsworth War Memorial was dedicated in 1923 after the First World War. It comprises an octagonal cross with wreath and sword, on a stepped base with inscriptions, executed in pale cream stone. It carries the names of 60 who fell in the First World War and eight who died in the Second World War were added later. It is situated at the junction of Pole Lane, Parr Lane and Sunnybank Road, in a small memorial garden on the triangular green which had been created by the straightening of Chapel Lane (now Parr Lane). Although located in Unsworth Pole, the memorial is dedicated to the fallen of the whole of Unsworth. It is Grade II-listed (https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1440257 Historic England List Entry Number: 1440257).
