Terraced cottages, Jericho, Bury
Situated opposite the General Hospital on Rochdale Old Road. An example of unsympathetic renovation - missing chimney stacks and plastic window frames.

Fairfield General Hospital, Pennine House
Fairfield General Hospital is the third largest hospital run by the Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. Since the closure of Bury General Hospital in 2007, Fairfield is the only remaining hospital in Bury and is one of three primary stroke units in Greater Manchester. It is also the main site for elective surgery in the North Manchester area (http://www.pat.nhs.uk/our-hospitals/fairfield-general-hospital/ Pennine Acute Hospitals Trust).
The hospital occupies an extensive site off Rochdale Old Road at Jericho, two miles to the east of Bury. The site was once home to the Bury Union Workhouse which later became Bury Union Institution (http://www.workhouses.org.uk/Bury/ The Workhouse in Bury).
It has been known as Fairfield Hospital since formation of the National Health Service in 1948 and most of the old workhouse blocks have been replaced by modern buildings. Much of the present hospital was constructed in the 1970s.
