Demolition Of Exide Factory
Exide Technologies is an American-owned global power solutions company and the Over Hulton site in Salford Road produces batteries under the CMP brand name. The factory closed in September 2009 with the loss of 400 jobs. It is currently being razed to the ground by Forshaw Demolition.

New In-Vessel Compost Facility
This is the view from one side of the double weighbridge at the site operated under the Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority by Viridor Ltd. This view looks towards the open door to the compost maturation building which is connected on the north side by the waste reception building which has the three lines of 28 TEG cage in-vessel composting units. Co-mingled catering waste, category 3 ABP, will be composted here to an alternative European standard.
