Robin Hood Mills, Lever Street, Bolton
No.s 1 & 2 mills built in 1848 and 1882. In 1985 No. 1 Mill was used by Bolton Plastic Components (still on site) and No. 2 by Sundour Fabrics Ltd. In 1902 the beam engine in No. 2 suffered a serious smash when the beam broke but fortunately nobody was injured.

The Little John, Lever Street
The surroundings are more industrial than residential - ideally suited to attract millworkers after a hard day at work! The style of the frontage suggests a rebuilding in around the 1920s. Note the painted Walker's panel on the gable wall. Walker's were a large Liverpool and Warrington based firm who took over at least one local Bolton brewery. The name reflects the presence of Robin Hood Mill on the opposite side of the road.

Albion No. 4 Mill, Bolton
Albion Mills 1 to 4 were built between 1850 and 1870 as cotton spinning mills. Mills 1 to 3 were demolished in the 1970s. Mill No. 4 ceased work as a textile mill under Courtaulds in 1958 but is still in multiple uses, including for self storage. The big blind brick rectangle by the left hand edge is the scar where an external engine house has been demolished and the rope race entrance blocked up.

Robin Hood Mills, Bolton
The elegant entrance to the mills that were built in 1848 and 1882. The office block matches the mill on the left while there is a clear join with different coloured bricks to the mill on the right. The site is still in industrial use. The buildings are in good repair but the most aesthetic part is this office/entrance block. Engine houses could not be seen on this elevation.

Bettix, Lever Street
The original use of this building is unclear from old maps, but it is now occupied by a firm of moulded plastic container manufacturers who occupy part of the Robin Hood Mill on the opposite side of the road.
