House Without A Name, Harwood
The pub was given this unusual name by the licensing authority. It is said that when the first publican applied for a licence he was unaware that pubs must be given a name. When he was asked for the name of the house he said, "It has no name". The licensing magistrate said, "Then it shall be the House Without A Name." Locally, the pub is known as the No Name.

House without a Name, Harwood
The story goes that when the then alehouse applied for a full liquour licence, the applicant was unaware that, if a full licence was to be granted, then the premises would require a name. When the magistrate granting the licence was told that the premises had not been named, he said "Then, it shall be "The House Without a Name."".
