Back Lane Malvern Avenue
This is the cobbled back lane to some terraced houses in Malvern Avenue, the back walls of which can be seen on the right of the image, This short back lane runs from Melroase Avenue (foreground) through to Conway Avenue (where the white fronted house is.)

Back Shipton Street, Bolton
A back alley with cobbles behind terraced workers' housing in Bolton. Redolent of Coronation Street and still to be seen in the 21st century. In retrospect, I should have walked up a bit and turned round to photograph the huge mill at the end of the street.

Looking along Bentinck Street, Bolton
The mill in the distance is Atlas No. 8 Mill. There is a more modest works in the foreground at the junction with Sofa Street. Part of this complex is Opal Works, home of Metal Solutions.
