Beales Department Store, Deansgate
The local Whitakers department store became part of the Beales group as log ago as 1960, but it is only recently that the Whitakers branding has been dropped in favour of Beales. The building is a fine example of buff terracotta decorative architecture and dates from 1912. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3084138

The junction of Knowsley Street and Deansgate
Arguably the centre of Bolton. The tower of the Town Hall is peeping up behind. The building ahead occupied by the Nationwide was formerly a branch of NatWest, and before that the Westminster Bank.
