1
Doorway, 19 Silverwell Street
The premises have been the home of the architectural firm of Bradshaw and Gass, subsequently Bradshaw Gass and Hope, since 1871. The doorway seems unreasonably large for the original terrace house, and could well have been inserted by the firm at a later date. It is certainly not of recent insertion, and the style is consistent with the date of the buildings. listed Grade II.

The Picture House
Modern apartments on the site of the former Lido cinema. The use of timber cladding as a 'soft' feature doesn't seem to have matched the designers' expectations. The building's style doesn't seem to be the right match for the location.

South Bolton Panorama
I didn't count the steps, but it's 180 feet of narrow, spiral, stone stairs (the latter half without the aid of artificial lighting!) but it was worth it for the extensive views from the roof of Image See http://zoom.it/vDtB for a larger image which may be scrolled and/or zoomed This is looking across the south of the town.

Nelson House, Bradshawgate
The former Prudential Assurance building on the corner of Nelson Square. Designed by the eminent Victorian Architect Alfred Waterhouse in 1889 without all the florid gothic features that appear on many of his famous buildings. Nevertheless, the use of red brick and terracotta is typical of his work. Listed Grade II.
