Ogden Bridge at Irwell Vale
Nestled in the lush Irwell Valley and lying at the confluence of the River Ogden and River Irwell, Irwell Vale is a traditional mill village with fine examples of stone-terraced mill cottages. This old, stone bridge (Ogden Bridge) over the River Ogden has been closed to road traffic since the installation of a newer bridge approximately 20 yards downstream.

Bridge over the River Ogden
The River Ogden has a confluence with the River Irwell here in Irwell Vale. This is a weak bridge on Irwell Vale Road and there is another weak one over the Irwell only a few yards away around the corner.

Irwell Vale, Bowker Street
Nestled in the lush Irwell Valley and lying at the confluence of the River Ogden and River Irwell, Irwell Vale is a traditional mill village with fine examples of stone-terraced mill cottages. This row of 11 millworkers' cottages in Bowker Street, was built ca1833 by John Bowker to house his workers in the adjoining Irwell Vale Cotton Mill. It is grade II-listed (English Heritage Building ID: 185663 http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-185663-1-5-aitken-street-see-details-for-furthe#.Vg_ECnmFOHs British Listed Buildings).
