Charminster: postbox № BH9 200, Charminster Avenue
This George V-reign postbox was on the next corner down, outside Image, until shortly after the closure of the post office on 6 March 2004. It now stands outside this optician on the corner of Charminster Avenue and Sutton Road.

Charminster: Trinity United Reformed Church
This church was built in the 1990s, replacing the previous, mid-20th-century church on the site. It is on the corner of Sutton Road and Charminster Avenue.

Charminster: former Gresham Road Post Office
At dusk, from this angle, the whitewashed remains of the words "Gresham" and "Office" can just be discerned on the white panel above the door, catching the light of the lamppost opposite.
The building is at 44 Charminster Avenue, on the corner of Gresham Road which gave the post office its name, and it is now an estate agent.
The post office replaced an earlier branch named Strouden Road in 1926, and closed down on 6 March 2004.

Christmas lights, but not forgetting what it?s all about
This property in Gresham Road is lit up every December with an impressive array of Christmas lights, but fairly unusually does not forget the tradition of Christmas as a nativity scene is on show in a lit display between the bay window and the front door

Winton: aging kerbstones in Murley Road
This is one of the very few roads to still have these primitive kerbstones and gutters. We moved into our house nearby in 1987 and ours were updated fairly soon after.

Never-ending shadows
The low sun at 8 o'clock on a summer's evening, together with the gentle slope of Castle Road, produces exceptionally long shadows: the shadow of the car on the right extends for 40 or 50 metres down to the junction (and might be even longer but for the change in gradient) – not to mention my very long legs!

Moordown: footpath M04 comes out on Ripon Road
This short public footpath, an offshoot from another path running left-right behind the houses either side of us, emerges onto Ripon Road.
