Charminster: postbox № BH8 400, Charminster Road
A modern postbox of a design which seems only ever to be found on forecourts of petrol stations. Its advertised last collection times are 4:30pm on weekdays and 12:30pm on Saturdays.
The number of the box, BH8 400, is a little spurious as it is a duplicate of the box outside the sorting office in Wellington Road. My theory as to how this occurred is that the sorting office box previously had a BH1 number and that was re-numbered to BH8 when the sorting office moved to Wellington Road.

Charminster: the Richmond Arms
A large pub situated on the main Charminster Road, on the corner of King's Road. Almost attached (right) is the former public toilets, which have been boarded up for some years and which are semi-underground, entailing steps to reach them but still with windows above ground level.
