Charminster: a postbox has been moved
When this length of Heron Court Road was resurfaced a few months back, the postbox was moved to this acute corner of Gerald Road. It had previously been a few yards from the opposite corner. It is the same Victorian box, as evidenced by the damaged lid - see Image

Taken close to the road junction between the two roads at 2.30am when there was nothing but taxis ferrying drunken students, and a milk float about.

Winton: postbox № BH9 138, Alma Road
Situated on the crossroads of Alma and Heron Court Roads, this postbox used to be a couple of doors away, in the unfenced front yard of the former Alma Road Post Office. The post office closed down on 23 December 1975, but the postbox was only moved a few years ago.

Winton: snow-spattered street furniture
At the junction of Alma and Heron Court Roads, we can see the northerly direction from which the snow has fallen today.
Two days after heavy snow earlier in the week had all thawed, this fresh lot fell this morning, despite the fact that the day started rainy, with large puddles all around.
By nightfall, the main carriageways of all roads were clear of snow and ice, so this was a very heavy fall considering that it started and had almost disappeared on the same day.
