Thatched Cottage at Old Milton Green
This delightful cob-built dwelling dates from the 17th century. It is in Southern Lane, by the green, in a conservation area established in 1993. Sadly, most other buildings in the area are modern.

New Milton: Milton Post Office
This is one of 61 post offices in Hampshire and 2,500 across the UK which closed in 2008. In the mid-1990s it moved into the One Stop convenience store from the double-frontaged shop to the right, behind the advert hoarding. Its closure occurred during the third week of February 2008.

Old Milton, the Wheatsheaf
Central bar, horseshoe-shaped drinking area, restaurant to right. Old tiles and glass indicate that it once was an Eldridge Pope house. Cask ales on offer at my visit: Ringwood Best, Forty Niner & Old Thumper; Wychwood Winters Troll.
