Cottage at Gorley Road, Poulner, Ringwood c.1950
This cottage is no longer here; riddled with dry rot and goodness knows what else, it was demolished and replaced by two new houses on the vacant plot in comparatively recent times. A modern Streetview image shows what is here now: https://media.geograph.org.uk/files/7eabe3a1649ffa2b3ff8c02ebfd5659f/Poulner_Cottage.jpg

The Mount is a road with several branches, at the second junction of which stands this postbox which is emptied at 4pm on weekdays and noon on Saturdays. We also see the back of the signs directing oncoming motorists to numbers 8-61 (right as we look) and 62-93 (left). They will already have passed 1-7 on their left and 94-113 on their right.

The London Tavern, Poulner
The London Tavern was opened in the 1860s by Mr John Roberts. Apparently Mr Roberts heard the story of an elderly local lady who had been taken ill and a group of people had been dispatched to the White Hart at Poulner to purchase some brandy for medical purposes. The Licensee there refused to oblige as it was late at night and "was not prepared to come downstairs for anyone, living or dying". Being a fair-minded man, Mr Roberts was outraged by this behaviour and decided to open a bar in his own house, this he did after obtaining the necessary licence from the local police superintendent.
