Nea Meadows, lake
Originally part of a flood prevention scheme, this artificial lake in Image now looks part of the landscape; fed by Image which to the West become Bure Brook. The lake is fished by Christchurch Angling Club; when I visited, there were lots of mallards sunning themselves on its bank, and waterhens pottering around on the water.

This is the north end of the meadows. It is the remains of Nea Farm, most of which has been built on over the last 60 years. Behind the tree line is Nea Lake.

Ducks on part-frozen Nea Lake
