Hamworthy: postbox № BH16 159, Blandford Road
This Elizabeth II-reign postbox is misnumbered because it is comfortably in BH15 rather than BH16 – the collection plate concurs with Royal Mail's postbox list that it has a BH16 number, however. It does sometimes happen that a box close to the postcode boundary has the 'wrong' number – if its collections are made on a route through the 'other' area; however, this box is so deep into BH15, with all surrounding boxes correctly numbered, that this cannot be the explanation here. Anyway, the box is an Elizabeth II-reign specimen and its final collection times are 5pm on weekdays and 12:15pm on Saturdays.

Hamworthy, old school
The former village school, at the junction of Blandford Road and Tuckers Lane; boarded up for several years. The building looks similar to local "Lady Wimborne's Cottages", and appears to bear a similar shield; she built many cottages in the Poole/Wimborne area in the mid C19.

Hamworthy First School
After lying unused for many years, the building was refurbished and converted into four dwellings. A plaque on the front of the building gives the opening date as 1860(? - the last digit is not totally clear).
