Stanley Green: postbox № BH15 505, Willis Way
This postbox, of a modern design specifically for franked mail, serves the large industrial estate of which Willis Way is the main road. The box is currently out of use owing to (presumably new) parking restrictions which make it difficult when it comes to emptying the box, I suppose. See Image for a close look at the notice.

Burger van
This is interesting. The adjacent B&Q has a well-advertised cafeteria inside, but this burger van has a permanent pitch in the car park. I imagine they have to pay the developer to be allowed to fence off an area, and I am surprised that B&Q have not protested. The caravan was doing a roaring trade on a cold winter's morning. The cafeteria was not.

Who do you trust?
The legending on this van is very interesting. They make great play of being 'Not a rip off call centre' and I imagine that a local company will always give a better and faster response than national corporations who don't actually have people on the ground but will sub the work out to any tom, dick or harry. I had not come across the expression 'Trading Standards Approved' and thought it a dubious claim, but a little research shows that there are indeed a series of schemes of this nature run by some local authorities. Bedfordshire is one, and they own the phrase. The Dorset scheme is not called 'Trading Standars Approved' but is run on similar lines, and is called 'Buy With Confidence' and this company is not on their list. Caveat emptor.

Stanley Green: closure notice on the Willis Way postbox
This notice states that Image is currently closed, owing to the (presumably new) parking restrictions. Though written by the Royal Mail, the closing paragraph does not exactly use the Queen's English. It begins: "It is currently expected that the Postbox will come back into service on when a new location can be sort we do hope you'll understand the reasons for this and hope that it will not cause you any inconvenience." The nearest alternative postboxes for franked mail are listed, including their last collection times.
