St Joseph's Catholic church, Wilmer Road, Heaton
The church dates from 1890-1, architects WH & JH Marten, and is unassuming in its exterior, but listed grade II* on account of its interior with "rare early-mid C20 works of art of exceptional quality by the internationally renowned artist, Eric Gill". I hadn't read the listing before passing by, so didn't see whether it was open to visitors.
