Contrasts
On the left is the former General Post Office, with the cathedral behind. To the right are fine Victorian buildings in the "Little Germany" area. In the foreground is a large area left after clearing developments of the 1960s. The future of this is uncertain and no date for the start of building work has yet been given. Still nothing built in May 2012.

Forster Square Ground Zero
This is the site of an alleged "development" of Forster Square. The site has been cleared for many months but the developers are waiting until the shops are let before starting building. This could take several years before completion (or even starting). The fine building with the chimney stacks is the Midland Hotel. As of April 2009 the rubble has been cleared and some infrastructure work has been undertaken but no building work has begun and the developers Westfield have said that none will be done during 2009.

Bradford Forster Square railway station (site), Yorkshire
Opened in 1890 as "Bradford Market Street" by the Midland Railway to replace the original 1846 Leeds and Bradford Railway station which had been behind the retaining wall to the left of this image, this station was renamed "Bradford Forster Square" in 1924. It closed in 1990 when it was replaced by a smaller station on the far right of this image. View south towards the buffers. Taken from slightly further back and to the left of Image
