Built 1864-7 by Lockwood and Mawson. No longer used for its original purpose, it now houses a variety of small businesses.

Waterstones, Bradford: interior
This was once the Bradford Wool Exchange. It is now a Waterstones bookstore. See also Image The hammerbeam form of roof construction is more common in churches. The building is grade I listed (List Entry Number 1132985).

Single windows on the ground floor, pairs on the first floor, and triples on the second floor, all crowned by cream and red voussoirs. Openwork crest above, terminated by a pinnacle. Bottom right is one of thirteen medallions depicting notable figures.

Former Bradford Commercial Bank, Bank Street, Bradford
Typically lavish city-centre Victorian commercial architecture, the style chosen here a spiky Gothic (Image]). All very restless and frankly overdone but quite a sight. By Andrews & Pepper, 1867-68. Grade II* listed.
Now a branch of Natwest Bank.
