Buttressed houses on Bankfield Street
It isn't usual for terraced houses, even those built on a slope, to need buttresses. Either these houses were built badly, or on poor soil, or maybe there was one more house that's been demolished. Image shows a side view.

Greenfield Mill, Colne - datestone
This complex of industrial buildings is grade II listed (list entry 1378740), described as 'Former textile loom manufactory, foundry and textile mill'. This end of the site is newer, as it has a datestone of 1956.

Colne: 1 to 7, Bankfield Street
Bankfield Street runs northwards uphill from Greenfield Road. At the top, all vehicular traffic must turn right into Cross Street West. Not many houses are now left in Bankfield Street.

Colne: Collingwood Street
This short terrace is the totality of the houses on Collingwood Street, these modern houses (numbered 2 to 16 evens) having replaced older property. There were formerly many more houses on Collingwood Street, including back-to-backs on the other side of the road. All this older property has now been cleared.
