Foulridge Lower Reservoir
The largest of a group of reservoirs in the area constructed to supply water to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, which is at its highest point nearby. looking across to the slipway and boating area.

Burwain Sailing Club
Foulridge Lower Reservoir, which is fed from Foulridge Upper Reservoir, is also known as Lake Burwain. It used by anglers and is also home to the Burwain Sailing Club. The two reservoirs were built in the 1800s, not to store drinking water but to feed the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.

Rainbow over Lake Burwain
Lake Burwain - or more accurately, Foulridge Lower Reservoir - was built in the 18th century to provide water for the Leeds & Liverpool canal. Today it is also the home of a sailing club.

Foulridge Tunnel air shaft
The tunnel is along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, it is 1630 yards in length and was opened 3 May 1796.
