The Cemetery Chippy at Colne
Despite the name this is a popular place with the people of Colne in Lancashire. The cemetery across the road has a memorial to Wallace Hartley, the bandleader on the Titanic. His body was recovered from the sea and when he was buried here 1,000 people attended the funeral and up to 40,000 people lined the route. His violin was sold by auction in 2013 for £900,000 - a record for any Titanic memorabilia. See http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2489897

Mossley Street, Colne - old stone street sign
This sign is on the end wall of 110 Keighley Road, Colne. It used to be completely obscured by ivy but a recent owner of the property had the ivy removed and behold! the "street" has a name! It's no more than a side turning leading to the block's back street, so why was it given a name? It doesn't appear in Colne's street directory, nor is it named on any map. The sign is presumably as old as the houses (numbers 110, 112 & 114) which were built in the 1890s.
