This is No2 Keighley Road. It was formerly a public house, but has now degenerated into the untidy mess seen here.

Keighley Road, Colne, Lancashire
Looking eastwards from the top of Carry Lane. The first house on the leftg is No 21. This road sees buses every 15 minutes in an easterly direction: two per hour to Keighley and two per hour to Trawden. These services are provided by Burnley and Pendle Transport, (now a Transdev subsidiary) using comfortable modern saloons.

View across Market Street, Colne
The ancient Lancashire town of Colne has a great deal to recommend it. On the edge of beautiful Pennine countryside, it has remained small enough to have real human scale, while providing all the services sometimes lacking in much larger places. The town has long been an enthusiastic patron of the Arts: one of its better-known citizens was bandleader Wallace Hartley, who was still conducting his orchestra aboard the SS 'Titanic' as she slipped below the water. For many years, Colne was the Parliamentary seat of Sir Sidney Silverman, who did more than anyone to bring about the abolition of Capital punishment in the UK. In this photograph, the 'Union Exchange' pub can be seen, and beyond it, the Baptist church.
