The White Bull, Main Street, Gisburn
This is the only pub of four left in the village, two have been converted into housing, the other demolished and houses built on the site

Sign for the White Bull
The bull is an ancient and widespread sign, which may well have begun by referring to a papal bull, the leaden seal attached to the pope's edicts (Latin 'bulla'). The colour may be to do with a local bull of renown or an heraldic reference to the arms of Ann Boleyn.
