Fiddle Bridge
Fiddle Bridge, so called because of it being shaped like a musical instrument. In c1906 it was moved from Pendleton, where it crossed Pendleton Brook, to nearby Standen Hall, while a road was being altered. The bridge was returned to the village in 2000 at the initiative of Pendleton Women’s Institute.

Pendleton war memorial and Jubilee stone
On the wall of Spring House Farm, a memorial listing six names from the first World War and two from the second. At ground level is a stone marking the Queen's platinum jubilee this year.

Fiddle Bridge, Pendleton
A bridge to nowhere: to the left of this stone structure with metal railings, is a plaque saying 'Fiddle Bridge returned to village after 100 years in the year 2000'. Image gives a more detailed history.

Fiddle Bridge
Pendleton Brook was once crossed by several clapper bridges which consisted of very long stone flags laid from the banks to the central stone support with an iron handrail on either side. One of these, Fiddle Bridge, so called because it is shaped like the musical instrument was removed in c1906 to nearby Standen Hall while the road was altered. On the initiative of Pendleton Women’s Institute the bridge was returned to the village in 2000 and placed on this patch of grass. A plaque records this.

Overgrown watercourse
