Churchfield House Great Harwood
Built in 1851 by Henry Ainsworth Grime, in 1854 Churchfield house became the home of Joseph Haydock. His son Milton Haydock left the house and grounds in trust for his wife until her death, stating that ownership should then pass to the District Council for the benefit of the people of the town. The house was originally used as a Library and reading room, it is now used by many local groups for meetings, seminars, classes and social functions.
