The house on the left was the childhood home of Lancashire County cricketer, Bob Ratcliffe. Though it wasn't quite so big then. Bob took 3 for 25 as Lancashire went on to beat Middlesex by 7 wickets in the 1975 Gillette Cup Final.

In the 1970's there used to be a big metal "barn", in the centre of the picture, where the council kept a couple of vehicles. One was a tractor and the other was something else. I can remember looking under the doors to see which one was at the front.

Where are the swings?
I'm sure, like me, you're wondering what's happened to the playground that was here in the 1970's. The swings, slide and umbrella have all disappeared. There may have been a few other things , but they weren't so much fun to play on.
