Daisy Hill Rawtenstall
This steep road, off Bank Street was restored to cobbles back in 1995. At that time the local press printed an article that stated, 'Women have given the thumbs down to the new-look Daisy Hill, in Rawtenstall, after it was returned to its former glory. The steep hill has been restored to cobbles, but women slammed the changes, over fears they would get their heels stuck in the cracks and slip on the surface in winter. Town hall bosses said cobblestones did not have a bad record for accidents, and believed the road looked nicer'.
